North Atlanta picked up another win on November 28th against the Campbell Spartans by a score of 54 to 47. The Warriors struggled out of the gate, trailing 12 to 4 in the first quarter, and 17 to 9 in the second. Shots were simply not falling for the Dubs as they had trouble creating offense. Freshman David Clark for Campbell was hurting the Warriors with his scoring, and had 16 points on the night while shooting an efficient 47%. However, North Atlanta managed to chip into the lead towards the end of the first half and at halftime the score was 21 to 17 Campbell. They continued to ride this momentum in the third quarter, and after a monstrous third period the score was 35 to 30 Dubs. North Atlanta’s offense woke up and outscored Campbell 18 to 9, giving them the lead going into the final period.

Despite the momentum that North Atlanta’s third quarter play had given them, Campbell was not willing to go quietly into the night. They clawed back at the lead, making it a three point game with just over a minute left to play. However, the Warriors were still in control of the game, and some clutch baskets to keep Campbell at bay iced the game for North Atlanta. The team was led by another great game from Montavious Myrick, who notched a double-double with 12 points and 11 boards. The Warriors’ leading scorer was senior Charlie Hamilton, who scored 13 points and knocked down 2 three pointers. Other standouts included point guard K’hamani Oliviacce who contributed 10 points and a team leading 5 assists, and senior Tyson Motton who chipped in 6 points and snagged 7 rebounds.

While this was not the offensive outburst that the Warriors enjoyed against Riverwood, the Warriors showed in this game that they are a well-coached team that can rise up over a challenge and play their best basketball when they need it most. The Warriors’ best moments came when they were down early, and when their late lead was being threatened, and that is a result of good coaching and determination. This win showed that this is a tough North Atlanta team that has a lot of fight in them, and this is something that fans should be very proud of.
