For the past few years, foregin artists have been making a storm in the American music industry. Nowadays, it’s rare not to find a foregin artist on the radio or performing at some of the biggest hit music award shows on television. Even though they may not be singing or rapping in English, their growing American fanbase brought them into the American market. You have Latin artists, Asian artists, British artists, and many more being brought into more international music charts than their own.

One thing that’s always an easy conversation topic is a person’s taste in music. People tend to judge your character based on who you like to listen to or what song in your Spotify playlist you have on repeat. Music can bring people together, but sometimes music can drag people apart if you talk bad about their favorite artist or if your favorite artist dislikes theirs so now there’s this fanwar going on.

Foregin music artists have been hitting the American market, and despite the differences in languages, their music still hits the hearts of their international fans. Obviously the language barrier is not as bad as it seems for some, because Junior Jorden Brown knew once you get started with one Korean Pop group, you can’t help but like a whole lot more. “I was recently introduced to a few Korean groups by a friend who told me to try listening to them, including BTS and Loona, and I think they’re pretty good.” said Brown.

Currently the biggest foregin music artists are coming from different parts of Latin America and Asia, but some European artists are finding a spotlight as well. Junior Raegan Johnson wanted to add a little something different to her music playlists, and found German actor and singer Emillio Sakraya. He makes upbeat pop songs and often adds a bit of hip hop beats with slow piano tracks. “Because I started listening to him it made me want to expand my taste in music and listen to more like his.”said Johnson.

Music can influence a lot of people, from the way you act and feel to how you can see the world. The rise of foreign music artists doesn’t mean that your favorite English-speaking artist train is running out of coal, but don’t be afraid to hop on the international train because she has already left the station and shows no sign of stopping.
