Warrior Football is Ready to Kick Off the Sean O’Sullivan Era
Following the exit of former head football coach Jeremy Gainer, many players were left feeling shocked and worried for the future of the North Atlanta Football team. Being in one of the toughest regions in the state, great talent, experience and leadership are required at the top in order to compete. However, with the hiring of the new head coach Sean O’Sullivan, the future looks bright for the Warriors.
Coach O’Sullivan introduced himself to the team on April 27 during the team’s interest meeting. To many of the Warriors, like junior defensive-lineman Enzo Vasallo, not only did he set the tone during this season, but he made a great first impression in doing so. “I could just tell right away that coach O’Sullivan is very skilled as a coach and very nice as a person,” Vasallo said. “He has the abilities and dedication to get his players looks for college football.”
After a couple weeks of spring practices, O’Sullivan has further built up his reputation and earned his trust with the team. Sophomore defensive-back Jamie Hare is one of many players who the new coach has won over. “I can tell his main goal is to succeed as a team and he brings the level of intensity needed to do that,” Hare said. “For me, that is a coach I want to play for.”
Coach O’Sullivan still has plenty to prove throughout the course of the upcoming and future seasons. However, for the Warriors, it is safe to say ‘so far, so good’. After making a great impression early with the team, he has the opportunity to further build his reputation when his first test comes on May 18 against Riverwood High School in the spring game. With a couple weeks remaining of spring practices as well as the entire summer to practice and prepare, it will be interesting to see just how far O’Sullivan can take the Warriors.
