For most high schoolers just getting through the ACT is a momentous challenge, but few would dare to dream of something so seemingly impossible as a perfect score. And yet that is just what two North Atlanta students have achieved.

Seniors Richard Hill and Mitchell Hebner both received a composite score of a 36, the highest possible score on the most recent ACT test. This would make them the only North Atlanta Students to receive such a distinction, and puts them in the elite 0.136% of population to have accomplished this feat.

The ACT along with its counterpart the SAT are one of the most important high stakes tests that students will take in their educational career, with many colleges using it as a central component in their admissions process. It tests everything from language arts to math skills. And it is known for being extremely challenging, befuddling even the most intelligent of students. But not Hill and Hebner it would appear.

But rest assured it was no cakewalk for these two scholars. Hill noted that he had to spend a lot of time with his ACT tutor and did countless mock tests to refine his test taking skills to a “T.” “I spent an immense amount of time and effort for this,” he said. “I wasn’t surprised that I did well but it was surprising that I got a perfect score.”

But acing the ACTs isn’t the only thing they have going for them. Hill is a finalist for the National Merit Scholarship, an extremely prestigious scholarship that only a select few receive. Additionally he is a STAR student due to having the highest SAT in the class.

With these perfect ACT scores and other accomplishments Richard Hill and Mitchell Hebner are sure to have bright futures ahead of them. And perhaps they will pave the way for other Warriors to follow in their footsteps and take a leap towards perfection.
