Full Ride: Seniors Osaze Chimeka-Tisdale and Cassipea Stith are this year’s Posse Scholarship Recipients from North Atlanta. They will attend Texas A&M University and Brandeis University, respectively.

It is no secret that students at North Atlanta High School are known to succeed whether it be through excelling grades through honors and AP courses or taking the challenging pathway of IB and dual enrollment. Two seniors in particular have defined what it means to be a Warrior through their hard work and dedication and these individuals are Cassipea Stith and Osaze Chimeka-Tisdale.

In January both were awarded the prestigious Posse Scholarship. They join in a long succession of Posse scholars and follow the school’s 2017 scholarship recipient  Raquel McDaniels who now studies at Texas A&M.

Stith will attend Brandeis University in Waltham, Mass., along with nine other Atlanta-based Posse Scholar recipients. All Posse recipients receive four years of full-paid tuition. She credits her success to her rigorous experience at North Atlanta along with the support she’s always received from her family and friends

Stith is a dual enrollment student who spends a majority of her time doing her studies at Georgia State where she takes classes. She is also a FBLA officer, and a member of Key Club, Students of Excellence and National Honors Society. “I hope I can take my experience from North Atlanta and the opportunity I have been given with Posse to create a path for my future,” said Stith.

Under Posse, Chimeka-Tisdale will attend Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. During high school he’s been involved in Robotics, Jazz Band and the Boy Scouts. He said he feels honored to receive the scholarship and said it was the validation of all of his work. “High school has always been something I’ve tried my hardest at and it just feels like this shows that hard work and keeping at it will ultimately pay off,” he said.

The goal of the Posse scholarship is to connect urban high school students to top-tier universities by providing them with a group of students for support as well as assistance in order to succeed academically. “The kids in my group are fun and I can tell i’ll definitely enjoy the experience of college with them,” said Stith.

Stith and Chimeka-Tisdale are among North Atlanta’s best and brightest, and through the opportunity of Posse they can continue to set their paths toward impressive collegiate achievement.
