Things Are Always Fresh at the Peachtree Road Farmers Market

Fall is almost here and with the change in season come a variety of fun activities. We’re all about to dive into pumpkin carving, long walks, falling leaves, cozy clothes, and great coffee. Fall is incredible and with the beautiful weather and laid back vibes, one of my favorite things to do is go to the farmers market.

Although there are different markets scattered around Atlanta, my top choice is the Peachtree Road Farmers Market. It’s been running for 11 years and is the largest producer based farmers market in Georgia. The market is set up in front of  St. Philip’s Cathedral on Peachtree Road and runs from early-April to mid-December. It’s open on Saturday mornings from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. and Wednesday evenings from 4:30 to 8 p.m.

There’s a variety of delicious food at the market. There are more than 50 vendors including King of Pops, Serenbe Farms, Souper Jenny and The Little Tart Bakeshop. On Saturday mornings, the market is teeming with vendors selling everything from fresh veggies to breakfast pastries. The variety of stands makes it easy to get grocery shopping out of the way and to grab breakfast while you’re at it. On Wednesday evenings, the market is more focused on dinner options, but there are still a lot of great vendors. The market also has other fun things that add to the atmosphere like live music and cooking demos with local chefs.

If you’re looking forward to all the classic parts of fall, add going to the farmers market to that list. Eating local is great for your health, a wonderful way to support organic farmers, and markets are super fun. As fall gets closer, free up a Wednesday or Saturday and go support your local market. The scene is always fresh and lively.
