Cold weather has quickly come upon us and you know what that means: the beginning of the new season for our own North Atlanta boys basketball team. Based on some notable new developments, this season is shaping up to be one of the most exciting yet.

The entire starting lineup has been replaced with fresh and new players. Hopefully these new additions will be able to push the team toward its new goal: conquering regional games and facing off with the best players in Georgia during the state competition. Fortunately things are looking bright for the Warrior as they have hit the ground running. “We are doing really well and our off to a great start,” said senior guard Wyatt Williams. “Our games are going well and we have better chemistry than ever.”

Some early season wins included victories over Mount Vernon, Dunwoody and Centennial.

Head Coach Kerry Sardin noted that he is very optimistic about this new season “If we maintain focus and quality we will definitely be able to make state this year,” he said.

However this season is not without its drawbacks, as it will mark the last year for a number of seniors who have been devoted to the team for years. “It makes me sad to think about having to end my hoops career so I’m going to enjoy it while it lasts,” Williams said.

Another senior guard, Jaden Knight, is taking a similar if not more enthusiastic approach to this final year of Warrior’s basketball. “I gotta go crazy this year, play crazy and win like crazy,” he said.

It’s hoped that this season will serve as a fittingly epic climax to the high school careers of these seniors. With such as strong start and key wins in region competition, this year could mark another year of spectacular Warrior basketball.
