Dare to Dance!
The homecoming dance is a time of fun, recklessness, and music. This year North Atlanta did something a little different. The dance was held at the Atlanta Marriott Buckhead, as opposed to the usual school gym.
Whether getting funky on the dance floor or chatting to friends in the hallway, the homecoming dance was the place to be. The theme of the dance was Space Odyssey, and it can be said that the dance was out of this world.
There were over 900 students at the dance and it was obvious considering the floor was felt moving from all of the dancing. “I was petrified that the dance floor was going to cave,” said John Stenger, yearbook teacher, who was supervising the dance.
The music that caused the dancing was equally as insane. The poor people who stayed at the hotel probably weren’t able to go to sleep until after the dance ended.
Before the dance, many people occupied the Lenox food court in search of dinner. That was probably a sight to see for the shoppers seeing everyone in their homecoming attire.
Though many were in attendance there were some critiques of the dance. “I wish we had a bigger space or bigger dance floor,” said Kia Hardeman, senior.
Despite some scattered complaints, everyone, overall, enjoyed themselves. “It was better than it ‘s been for the last couple of years, because it wasn’t at the gym,” said Kate Everly, senior.
It was definitely a night to remember for those that came, and many can’t wait for the next one!
