All teams, including basketball, will be moved into the region and play the newly released list of schools.

Attention all Warriors: There are some pretty big changes ahead for Warrior athletics starting in January 2016. Two weeks ago GHSA (Georgia High School Association) issued new sports region changes for all high school teams. North Atlanta will be impacted and the school will move from up from the current classification 5A region 7 now to classification 6A region 7.

A new region will mean a whole different set of teams the Warriors will wage athletic battle against. New region competition is the following schools: Pope, Johns Creek, Northview, Chattahoochee, Alpharetta, Centennial and Cambridge.

The Cambridge Bears will remain a continued region rival. “We had our first meeting last night at Cambridge High School and sat down as a football staff and talk about our region schedule for next year,” said head football coach Jeremy Gainer. “This will be a highly competitive region. When you look at the schools we are competing against, we are new to 6A and most of these schools have been in this classification for some time now.”

“There are a lot of new areas that we need to get into. The only team that is following us is Cambridge High. So for us, being that ‘new kid on the block’ will mean a lot of hard work,” Gainer said.

A new region will mean big changes for all Warrior athletic teams. Let us all come out and support our teams. It’s a new year, so let’s dominate in our new region. Go Warriors!
