Straight ‘Outta Compton Is a Mind Blowing Hit

The newly released high charged film will leave the eyes of the viewer glued to the screen. Based on the true story of the group NWA, the movie takes place in the streets of Compton, Calif., a tough city filled with kids left to defend themselves on a regular basis. After being fed up with living in the hood, five guys decide to take control of their lives and change the dead-end route that they were taking.

In 1988, a revolutionizing group shines light on the art of Hip Hop and rap music. NWA’s first studio recorded album “Straight Outta Compton,” draws questionable attention when they start to be brutally honest about the hard times in South Los Angeles. This film depicts the lives of the group members and the struggle to become famous in the segregated ‘hood of Compton.

This controversial movie is one for the critics and one to remember. Although it illustrates the realistic struggles of California in the 1980s, it could use some censoring.

The rated R film shows many scenes filled with nudity, the use of drugs, and the F-bomb dropped 293 times. On top of that, the appropriateness of the violence shown is debatable, especially for certain audiences. But, it shows the real life version of Compton before the modern time of today. NWA eliminated their obstacles and stood strong no matter what, through the hood that they called home. Overall, ‘Straight Outta Compton’ is a movie that will shock and thrill audiences.
