Williams’ Passion for Fashion Taking New Heights
There’s no doubt that there is a wide range of talent within the North Atlanta student body. Among this noteworthy set you will find junior Elijah Williams. Even if you don’t know him personally, you most likely have seen him each day effortlessly rocking a runway-ready outfit down the halls. Behind every one of his head-turning looks is a passion for fashion that’s been growing stronger as the years roll on.
In a school where the average teen is usually “rocking” a jeans and t-shirt combination, Williams stands out as a walking advertisement for trend-setting fashion flair. He moves away from the hum-drum and brightens up the hallways with his choice of stylish colors, accessories and clothing combinations. He said his goal is never to stand out but, rather, to follow his natural style inclinations. “For as long as I can remember, I’ve had an interest in fashion. I guess it’s true that I do stand out from other people, but that’s not something overly consciously done. I just to express myself with what I wear,” he said.
When asked about his fashion inspirations he named some distinguished figures, including the fierce and always stylish artist Rihanna. “I love her because she doesn’t care what others think. She’s stylish in her own way,” he said.
Williams has some strong opinions about personal fashion. “It’s okay to dress differently. Fashion isn’t about fitting in,” he said.
His style would best be described as eclectic. It’s an everyday thing to see him with a stylish fedora with a black jeans jacket, black t-shirt and fitted jeans. The next day, you might find Williams with a huge scarf draped over a Calvin Klein shirt along with some high end leather boots that he might wear without socks.
His many followers on Instagram can see his daily fashion statements along with other photos that inspire him. “This is kind of like my artistic palate where I can show off my many sides,” he said.
With the support of his friends and family, a plan of action, and most importantly, a determination for success, Williams is ready to take his hobby to a whole new level. His name has long been well known among North Atlanta students for his professional fashion consults. Williams has had many paying clients for whom he’s given advice on prom dresses and advice for other big events. “My friends have been really supportive of my goals,” he said. “Now it’s time to take things to the next level. I definitely plan to turn fashion into a career one day. I want to be a professional fashion blogger or personal stylist and then eventually open my own boutique,” he said.
To be the very best at these jobs, he’ll need a little practice. Luckily, he didn’t have to look too far. Within a short matter of time he has turned his classmates into customers and his buddies into business. So if you’re in need of a little guidance – a prom stylist or someone who can add just the right spark to your wardrobe – look no further, because North Atlanta is home to someone who can give you a top grade consult, and he might just be sitting next to you in your English or math class.
