Walking through the halls of North Atlanta High School, students may have noticed a new presence in the administrative team, Jenna Robinson. She is the newly appointed senior supervisor, and the students are lucky to have her this year. Coming from working with a partner, Robinson is new to this job position but is dedicated to supporting seniors in their final year. While her job title sounds serious, Robinson brings new views to the role, eager to connect with students and help maintain a positive school environment.
While Robinson might be new to this position, she is no stranger to North Atlanta. Robinson is a North Atlanta alumni, graduated in 2000, and was drawn back to the school. She went to the former campus on Northside, making teaching here not feel too strange, but it still makes her nostalgic to think about working at her old high school. Additionally in charge of making 504 plans, she’s spent years working with students and teachers to create an engaging and supportive school culture. Her experience in leadership has prepared her for the fast-paced environment of graduating seniors. She believes that high school is such a pivotal time, and she wants to be a resource for students and the staff in any way she can. “This is my first year doing it all alone and it’s a lot of pressure, but I love working with the seniors,” Robinson said.
For students wondering what exactly a senior supervisor does, Robinson’s role involves a little bit of everything. She plays a crucial part in making sure all the senior events get perfectly planned out. That includes senior breakfast, senior nights, and all other activities leading up to graduation. Her primary goal is to oversee the graduation process and make sure each student walks across the stage. Starting already in August, she has been earnestly working at getting seniors graduation ready. This year, graduation is on May 22 which is earlier than previous years, moving up her deadline. “School ends later this year, yet graduation is sooner, so it’s been a race against time, but I am sure seniors are happy to get out of here,” Robinson said.
Handling a class of over 600 seniors is no easy task, but Robinson is committed to making sure every student gets the support they need. She understands how overwhelming senior year can be and she strives to be a resource for both students and staff. There are countless details she takes into consideration while keeping track of all the students and payments. “There are many moving pieces so I am here to make it easier and to guide students every step of the way,” said Robinson.
So, if you’re a senior with questions about graduation, deadlines, or anything in between, don’t hesitate to stop by her office. Robinson is here to make sure the final year at North Atlanta is a successful and memorable one.
