January and February often bring the coldest temperatures of the year, bringing chills and rosy cheeks for North Atlanta High School students. But, many students embrace the opportunity to dress for the cold in their most chic options for the season. Students have found the ability to stay warm and stylish by implementing puffy coats, sweaters, and UGG boots into their outfits all winter long.
Bold and bright puffer jackets have graced the halls of North Atlanta in the past few weeks as the weather has been below freezing every morning. Not only are puffy coats one of the best options for keeping you warm, but they add a stylish layering element to any winter fit. Many students have found a friend in the staple jacket, the Aritzia Super-Puff. Super-puffs come in a variety of colors and lengths, allowing students to not only stay warm but keep their tastes and styles involved in their outfits. From matte black to glossy pink, from cropped lengths to parkas, the super puff is a winter staple in many wardrobes, being the epitome of winter-style staples for North Atlanta students in 2025. “My super-puff has been the best addition to my closet this winter. It is warm, stylish, and goes with everything, I’m obsessed,” said Maddie Fluke.
Below the layers of jackets, but above a tank top, comes everyone’s favorite option for the cold, sweaters. Sweaters provide a wonderful option for students to stay warm outside and inside the building, bringing comfort and coziness throughout the school day. Sweaters also provide many options, whether they are turtle or crew neck, wool, cotton, or cashmere, neutral or colorful, sweaters provide endless options for winter style. Many students have found their match in sweaters from Zara, Brandy Melville, and many more. “My hunter green crewneck from Brandy Melville has made many appearances this winter, and I’m sure there are more to come as the chilly temperatures persist,” said junior, Mary Ellen Little.
Outside of clothing items, UGG boots have been all the rage for keeping students warm and comfortable this winter. Although some debate as to whether or not these boots are stylish, there is truly no debate about their comfort. The fur inside and the flexible structure allow for a cozy experience every time you wear them. UGG minis have been a student favorite this year, as they keep the feet and ankles warm, without going too high up the legs. Another bonus is that they come in many color variations, allowing students to stay unique while wearing basic and warm shoes. One student, Piper Curnow, said, “UGGs have been my favorite thing to pair with my outfits this winter. I have been comfy and warm all winter long.”
No matter how low the temperatures go, North Atlanta students have shown how staying warm doesn’t mean sacrificing style. From puffer jackets to cozy sweaters and ever-comfortable UGG boots, winter fashion has seen all the rage in the halls of North Atlanta High School. As the chilly temperatures persevere throughout the end of January and into February, students plan to keep bundling up in their wonderful winter wardrobes, bringing self-expression and warmth in style this season.
