At North Atlanta High School, students who frequently buy school lunches can enjoy a different meal almost every day of the week. From school lunch classics such as pizzas and chicken sandwiches to multi-cultural dishes such as fried rice and orange chicken, students will never be bored of what they are served in the lunchroom. However, there are, of course, dishes that are student favorites, and dishes that are not so loved. In this article, I will be going over the top five dishes served in the lunchroom.
#5. To start off this list, jerk chicken will be taking the fifth spot. Due to its luscious blend of spice and its tender texture, jerk chicken has become one of the hottest foods served at North Atlanta. A perfect condiment to pair with this dish is ketchup, and luckily for students, North Atlanta has a seemingly unlimited amount of ketchup packets available.
#4. Chicken Nuggets will be taking the next spot on this ranking. Both a fan favorite and a lunchroom classic, it’s hard to go wrong with chicken nuggets. Their crispy texture and their juicy interior give students a moment to relish every time they bite into one. Furthermore, chicken nuggets are another great dish to go with North Atlanta’s plentiful supply of ketchup packets.
#3. Nachos are going to take the middle spot for this pack of foods. The crunchy chips topped with warm and gooey cheese sauce make for a great combination. Toppings such as ground turkey and peppers give students the ability to tailor the meal to their preference, allowing for a perfect mixture of spice and savor.
#2. This next food may come as a surprise to many, but in my humble opinion, Fried Chicken deserves an undeniable spot on this list. When Fried Chicken is being served in the cafeteria, students can be sure to receive a huge serving of golden-brown goodness. The chicken and vegetables that are mixed with the rice create a well-rounded meal that stands out from the rest of the food options.
#1. Finally, the last spot on this list will come as a surprise to none, and it is, needless to say, pizza. With the addition of Smart Mouth Pizza this year, students can enjoy a rotation of three different types of pizza, giving students the opportunity to try different types and different flavors. Pizza days are met with an undeniable buzz, and oftentimes students even miss out on grabbing a slice because the cafeteria sells out so fast. For these reasons, it is undeniable to say that Pizza reigns supreme.
