Player MVPs
Offensive MVP Cameron Lanier:
Exploding onto the scene after a quiet week 1 game, Junior slot receiver Cameron Lanier took 2 deep balls for a total of 70 yards to the house in a big win.
“We had that play in all week and I was excited to be able to get 6 on the scoreboard from it,” said Lanier. “After that, we figured we might as well double down and make it 12.”
Defensive MVP John Ramseur:
Disrupting the Paulding County offense with 2 tackles for a loss or no gain to go along with a handful of others, his presence left the Patriots reeling.
Play of the Game
Late in the 4th quarter, Freshman cornerback Bryce Willingham seals the win for the Dubs with an interception on an attempted deep ball.
Week Three Preview
After their first win of the season, the Dubs now prepare to face the Wheeler Wildcats led by quarterback Marcus Romain (Northwestern commit) and running back Josiah Allen (Cornell commit). Deemed “the best 0-2 team in the state,” the Wildcats are certainly going to put up a fight. The Dubs are 2-1 against the Wildcats all time, with all matchups coming in the last three years. The Dubs won last year’s matchup 30-22.
