Many students can be spotted after school, on the weekends, or on school breaks browsing the aisles of Barnes and Noble and other bookstores looking for their next reading endeavor. The Fulton County Public Library System also sees a significant number of North Atlanta students pass through due to the appeal of books at no cost. Popular book recommendations are spread in a variety of ways. Reading TikTok accounts, also known as BookTok, talks about a range of books, appealing to a wide variety of audiences. Booklist articles are another way NAHS students get their book recommendations. “I always look at the Barnes and Noble monthly picks list,” said Shull. “They have really good recommendations for a variety of genres.”
As summer beckons with its promise of leisure and relaxation, NAHS students stand ready to embark on new literary journeys, eager to explore worlds unknown and characters yet to be met. For these reading warriors, books provide a respite from the hectic school schedules and ever-growing piles of homework.
