With the upcoming prom season, excitement is flooding the North Atlanta halls! It’s been a long time coming for students who have been looking forward to prom since freshman year. Promposals are arguably one of the best parts of the entire season. From elaborate dances to cute posters to just going with a good group of friends, prom season and promposals do not disappoint.
From serenades to a simple question, the promposal game at North Atlanta High School continues to reach new heights of creativity. Every year, there is always at least one dance promposal that takes up an entire floor and quickly gathers a crowd. This year, there was one perfect promposal that outshines them all. Dancers lined up, dressed in black while Jackson Norflis came out with the most adorable sign and flowers creating the best promposal. Seniors Jackson Norflis and Sophia Egoavil make the cutest “This was the best promposal I could have imagined,” Sophia Egoavil says, “and it made the best last prom.”
Another simpler, but just as good option to prompose is a sign. A sign paired with their favorite food or flowers makes the perfect combination. The clever slogans plastered across the signs make these posters to die for. Anything from, “I donut want to go to prom with anyone but you” paired with donuts or “Let’s suit up for a legen-wait for it-dary prom” with reference to How I Met Your Mother. Senior Knox Wade and Junior Annie Neufeld love to watch that show, so this made for the perfect poster. “I’m so excited to go to prom with Annie,” Knox Wade says, “and I wanted to show that through my sign.”
Promposals aren’t just reserved for couples. Many people just decided to go with their friends and have the best time with their best friends. With all the stress that can sometimes surround prom, being with your friends can help make it carefree and the best memories can be made. The key to enjoying prom and making the most out of your night is simply doing what you feel most comfortable with and not letting others’ expectations hold you back from enjoying yourself. Junior Siena Schettino decided to go with her friends and did not look back. “Prom was the best and my friends and I made experiences that will last a lifetime,” she says.
With the prom season coming to a close and the excitement dwindling down, North Atlanta reflects on their memories with their friends and partners. Prom was debatably the best night of the year for dubs.
