Meet the powerhouse trio commanding the draw circle for the Dubs Varsity Lacrosse team: seniors Martha Crisp, Anna Samuelson, and Kenzie Crow. Ranked 5th nationally for their dominance as a draw team, boasting an impressive 74.2% success rate in possessions, they’ve left opponents grasping at thin air with their indisputable chemistry and talent. Not only are they reigning supreme in the nation for draws, but they’ve also clinched the coveted top spot in Georgia. Leading the team this year are Samuelson and Crisp, both captains, with Samuelson’s prior experience as Junior captain in the 2023 season lending a seasoned edge. As they gear up for their final season together, their impact on the game is undeniable, and their futures shine brightly beyond the field.
Samuelson, a standout midfielder for the Warriors, has made her mark both on and off the field. Committed to Rhodes College for lacrosse, she’s not just a force in scoring—leading her team last season with 36 goals and currently topping the charts this season with 21—but also a dominant presence in draw possessions, tallying 178 out of 240. Recognized as a USA Lacrosse Academic All-American and Player of the Game twice last season, Samuelson’s leadership and skill are clear. “I can’t even begin to express how excited I am to keep playing lacrosse in college but I am so sad to leave these girls,” said Samuelson, “We’ve grown together since middle school, and the thought of leaving behind this incredible team is surreal. But our memories will fuel my passion as I continue this journey.”
Step onto the turf at North Atlanta, and you’ll immediately feel the impact of midfielder Kenzie Crow. Leading her team in numerous categories—including assists per game, overall points (goals and assists), and caused turnovers—she sets the standard for excellence. Despite playing through a painful rib injury last season, Crow emerged victorious as MVP, showcasing her resilience and commitment to her team. With plans to continue her lacrosse journey through club play in college, her powerful, assertive style and unwavering determination make her an intimidating opponent. “Kenzie makes stuff happen on the field,” said senior teammate Katie Conner, “She is scrappy on the draw circle and hustles for every ball she gets. She is truly a one-of-a-kind player.”
Crisp, known for her lightning-fast speed and impeccable finesse on the turf, is a force to be reckoned with on the field. Ranked last season in the top 10 of the region for goals, ground balls, and overall points, she consistently showcases her versatility. With plans to continue her lacrosse journey through club play in college and aspirations of becoming a dermatologist, Crisp embodies dedication both on and off the field. Reflecting on her remarkable bond with Samuelson and Crow, she shares, “Playing alongside these two girls is an unexplainable sensation,” said Crisp, “It’s as if an invisible string is between our minds, ensuring someone always anticipates the next move. It’s why we play so well together, always in sync.”
As the Dubs lacrosse team charges ahead in their season, the spotlight shines brightly on the formidable trio of Crisp, Samuelson, and Crow. Their prowess in the draw circle electrified the team’s performance, propelling them to their impressive start to the season with victories over River Ridge, Woodstock, and Woodward. With 13 games remaining, the anticipation builds for their first home game against Lovett on February 27th, offering fans an opportunity to witness the magic of these 3 standout athletes before they bid adieu to North Atlanta High School.
