Warrior Wishlists: Most Wanted Items of 2022
It’s the most wonderful time of the year: families decorate Christmas trees, hang lights, and hit replay on their favorite holiday playlists. While temperatures drop and students wait for snow, Warriors are compiling lists of their most wanted presents. Times have changed, and so have the content on Christmas wishlists. So, what tops the Dubs charts this holiday season?
Some students dreamed of getting a new stuffed animal or a fun toy as little kids – as high schoolers, their dreams have gotten more significant with advanced technology topping lists. This year, the Apple Airpod Max and the Apple iPhone 14 are some of the most coveted tech must-haves. “Apple products always end up being the most wanted items during Christmas,” said freshman Alexander Chalk. “Everyone goes crazy for them whenever a new product or version is released.”
While Apple products have remained in high demand, fashion trends change rapidly – inciting diverse gift requests by the year. From workout apparel to formal attire, new clothes have become one of the primary desires of 2022. Lululemon, Nike, Zara, and Brandy Mellville galore – the Warriors can’t get enough. “I’ve asked for clothes yearly,” said sophomore Walker Stevens. “It’s a useful gift if you want to cover both preference and necessity.”
The weather changes from a nice breeze to icy cold during the holiday season, even in Georgia – and with the newfound chill, the perfect seasonal fashion staple returns: boots. The Ugg brand has made a fashion comeback, attracting teens to its Platform Slipper Clogs and Ultra Minis as a valuable cold weather asset. “They look so soft and warm,” said junior Leola Hayal. “I see people wearing them at school and instantly want them on my feet.”
The majority of wanted items this year are promised to deliver Dubs longevity. However, one present remains a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The high demand for tickets to attend the Taylor Swift Eras Tour has led students to sit at their computers for hours, waiting to snag a spot. “Taylor Swift has an incredibly loyal fan base around the world, let alone our school,” said senior Camille Evans. “People will dig holes in their bank accounts just to see her.”
Dubs have begun building their Christmas lists with practical and imaginative gifts. With extensive sales and a festive spirit, Warriors have an abundance of presents to wish for as we celebrate the end of another incredible year. Happy Holidays!
